Austin International School seeks a well-qualified and experienced part time teacher of English language arts for 3rd – 5th Grade. This post is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed teacher to contribute to the success of the faculty and the achievement of the students. This is available for immediate start.
The ideal candidate should be:
- Experienced as an elementary school teacher

Requirements and Responsibilities:
- Ability to plan and implement creative, inspiring lessons which are aligned with the school’s French-American curriculum and show evidence of written preparation as required
- Ability to individualize the learning of all students
- Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students
- Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to school requirements
- Attendance at regular meetings as required
- Knowledgeable and experienced in teaching English as a second language
- Strong ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with parents
- Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents twice yearly and on an as needed basis
- Ability to assess and monitor student progress and improvement
- Strong organizational skills
- Participate in staff development activities to improve professional growth
- Supervise students on the playground
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Recognized teaching qualification in elementary education
