A Typical Day in PS (Pre-K3) and MS (Pre-K4)

7:45am – Drop-off
Your child may be dropped off at any time from 7:45am onwards. Children arriving at this time are looked after by members of staff.

8:45am – Circle Time
The students will begin class with circle time. During this time, the children will sing, listen to stories, do show-and-tell, learn rhymes, finger plays, poems, dances, and much more. This activity will take place in French, English, or Spanish depending on the day of the week. Circle time is very important for oral language development and socialization skills.

9:00am – Morning Snack Time
Children eat a healthy snack brought from home.

9:15am – Activities
Children will transition to different activities based on the curriculum and the language of immersive instruction will depend on the day of the week. Our program is a balance of age-appropriate, curriculum-based activities, socialization, play, oral language development, as well as working on so many other important skills at the pre-school stage such as health and hygiene, independence, learning to use words effectively, conflict resolution, listening to others, etc. All of these skills are incorporated into everything the children do.

9:45am – Clean-up and Bathroom Time
Many opportunities are provided for children to go to the bathroom throughout the day. They are always escorted by a teacher or classroom assistant.

9:55am – Morning Recess
Students play on dedicated playgrounds located at the back (PS/MS) and front (GS) of the campus (weather permitting).

10:30am – Circle Time
Circle time will take place in French, English, or Spanish depending on the day of the week.

10:40am – Activities
Children will work on activities based around the pre-school curriculum (e.g., arts and crafts, physical education, number work, oral language development, music and movement, discovery of the world, health and hygiene, etc.).

11:20am – Clean-up and Bathroom Time
Many opportunities are provided for children to go to the bathroom throughout the day. They are always escorted by a teacher or classroom assistant.

11:30am – Lunch
Children can eat a packed lunch from home or a hot lunch ordered from our external caterer. Please note we have a strict no nuts policy, a no candy policy, and a no soda policy.

12:00pm – Recess
Students play on dedicated playgrounds located at the back (PS/MS) and front (GS) of the campus (weather permitting).

12:30pm – Nap Time
Children settle down with their mats, blankets, soft toys, and restful music. The teacher and assistant sit with the children and help them to relax their bodies and take rest time. Children do not have to nap, but they are encouraged to have quiet time.

1:45-2:15pm – Waking-up from Nap
The children may already be awake by this time and all of them will begin to put away their nap things by themselves. Independence is a large part of the program; following a nap routine and being able to clean up afterwards is an important skill.

2:15pm – Afternoon Snack Time
Children eat another healthy snack provided from home.

2:45pm – Circle Time
Circle time will take place in French, English, or Spanish depending on the day of the week.
