A stimulating, positive environment
Our children live in a highly interdependent and interconnected world – a world emphasizing peoples’ exchanges, interactions, shared experiences, and commonalities.
Today our school is a positive reflection of this global situation.
To thrive, children need strong interpersonal skills, efficient strategies to interact positively with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds, and an ability to adapt to ever-changing economic and social conditions.
With a solid sense of who they are – and respect for who others are – Austin International School individuals contribute to their community, both locally and globally. By sharing their expertise, by seeking better alternatives, and through an exceptional ability to bring people together, they experience a more fulfilling life, with a strong sense of civic responsibilities.
A multilingual program
Our curriculum, delivered in three languages and built on a French curriculum framework, develops students’ critical thinking and intellectual curiosity.
Most children have the capacity to learn two or more languages and children who learn more than one language before adolescence, will acquire those languages with more ease and “native-like” ability than they would trying to study those languages as adults. Proficient bilinguals outperform monolinguals on language and academic achievement tests as well as have overall enhanced school performance and superior problem solving skills. Multilingualism provides greater economic opportunities as well as increased personal and cultural opportunities.
A challenging curriculum
Austin International School is a challenging and innovative academic program that cultivates:
- Independent and critical thinking
- Efficient learning strategies
- Personal balance
An individualized approach to teaching means that each child is valued as a learner with his or her own strengths and needs. We pride ourselves on challenging students to their optimum capacity while making sure that each one’s passion for learning, generosity of heart, and need for self-construction time is nourished.
Technology is integral to our learning environment. Teachers are trained to use technology to support their instruction. Each child learns to become proficient in the ways of the modern high-tech world.
