Extended Care

Early Care

Early care begins at 7:30 a.m. and is provided as a convenience to parents free of charge. Students play together in our multipurpose room under the supervision of two teachers on rotating schedules. Parents should escort their children to the multipurpose room for early care after checking in at the front desk in the morning. Teachers collect their students from care five minutes prior to class start.

Schedule: 7:30 a.m. until class commences

After School Care

After School Care begins after classes are over and the pick-up grace period of 30 minutes has passed. After school care is offered to parents on a monthly or drop-in rate. During after school care children are divided by age groups in the MS1 and MS2 classrooms under the supervision of our after school care counselors. The counselors provide a positive and supportive environment for children to play casually together. Activities may include costumes, games, drawing, story time, and outside play. Healthy snacks brought from home may be eaten during this time; toys from home are not allowed.

Schedule: Monday through Friday until 6:15 p.m. Start times are staggered in accordance with pick up times.

  • PS and MS begins at 3:30 p.m.
  • CE and CM begins at 3:45 p.m.
  • GS and CP begins at 4:00 p.m.

Cost: Parents must elect the monthly care plan, billed at the end of the month. Children must be picked up by 6:15 p.m. A charge of $1 per minute is in effect for pick up after 6:15 p.m., no exceptions. Students who are not picked up during the grace period immediately following class release will automatically be taken to after school care and the daily drop-in rate will apply.

Monthly rate: for PS and MS = $180; for GS to CM = $140

Daily rate, billed monthly: $12

School Breaks Care

AIS is closed for several breaks throughout the year. During the following weeks we offer day care for students from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. provided that at least 12 students per day are enrolled. Care is not available during professional development days, holidays, or other days not included below:

  • Fall Break (October 10-14, 2011)
  • Spring Break (March 12 – 16, 2012)
  • April Break (April 23 – 27, 2012)

Cost: Weekly = $275; daily = $60.
