3D PRINTING: DESIGNING FOR FUN (IdeaLabs Kids)
Students will learn how to design new and fun models, such as cartoon characters or funny anime characters, or anything they find silly and fun to make! Students are encouraged to build and model their own creations.
 
ART WITH YOUNG REMBRANDTS
Students will continue their multi-cultural journey learning about master and contemporary artists and techniques from around the globe, such as Spain, Australia and China. Children will learn about basic elements of drawing, visual composition, balance, try their hand at small sculptures, even create their own mosaic collage. They will continue their artful adventures, exploring painting, sculpting, drawing, and more. Taught by Young Rembrandts.
 
CODING AND PROGRAMMING: CODING THROUGH GAMING (IdeaLabs Kids)
Video Game Design is not all about coding. This classes teaches students all about what makes a game appealing in the first place: great level design and smooth functionality in our games! From background drawing all the way to animations, students develop introductory skills in video game design.
 
DESIGN-BASED ENGINEERING: SIMPLE CIRCUITS AND THINGS THAT LIGHT UP (IdeaLabs Kids)
Students will work with switches, LEDs and conductive materials to bring light to all sorts of things! Projects include making a light up Light Saber, flashlights, and the basics of making a light switch.
 
INDOOR TENNIS
Through this activity, students learn the basic techniques for playing tennis. All activities take place indoors with portable nets, allowing students to develop their tennis skills in a comfortable envrionment. Students will receive immediate feedback on their technique and will collaborate with others. Taught by Kid Fit Tennis.
 
iPIANO LAB
iPianoLab is the easiest, fastest, most fun way to learn how to play the piano or keyboard. Using our award-winning, patented method, you can learn to play your favorite songs on keyboard and piano in your home, on your desktop, or at your school. Study online at your own pace, or in one of our fun after-school classes with an iPianoLab Certified™ teacher.

LITTLE MEDICAL SCHOOL

The mission of Little Medical School® is to teach elementary and middle school children about the exciting field of medicine. Through hands-on demonstrations, crafts, and games, children are actively engaged as they explore the world of medicine. Through interactive learning, kids will discover how the body and organs work, how to use medical instruments, administer first aid and even tie knots like a real surgeon. Each child will receive a working stethoscope to take home and a diploma as a graduate of the Little Medical School® after completion of the course.
 
LITTLE VETERINARIAN SCHOOL
Little Veterinarian School® encourages elementary school children to role play and explore the exciting world of veterinarians. Using interactive demonstrations, crafts and games, kids learn how to take care of a pet and use instruments that real veterinarians use. Little Veterinarian School® brings medicine, science and the importance of health to children in an entertaining and engaging way. From after school programs to birthday parties and camps, children have fun and learn at the same time. Classes are designed and developed by a team of board-certified and trained physicians.
 
MAKER STUDIO: TOY MOD SHOP (IdeaLabs Kids)
Students mix and mod designs of some of their favorite toys in this course. They recreate their own versions of popular toys, past and present.
 
MINECRAFT EXPLORER'S CLUB (IdeaLabs Kids)
Join us as we explore the world of Minecraft through Coding and Programming as well as exploratory play. We will utilize a specific tool that will help us to create our own Minecraft Mods as well. Students will learn beginner to intermediate coding skills in this class. Students will each be provided with their own laptop computer to execute Idea Lab Minecraft curriculum.
 
MIX, MEASURE, POUR (IdeaLabs Kids)
In this cooking and science journey, students will get the opportunity to do both messy kitchen chemistry classes, as well as cook up simple recipes that will be enjoyed by all. Projects will include making homemade ice cream and cake pops, creating our own play dough, and exploring chemical reactions.
 
PRESCHOOL GYMNASTICS
This class is designed especially for the preschooler that wants tumbling, balance beam, and rhythmic gymnastics in one class. Students will progress through warm-up exercises, strength and flexibility skills, locomotor and coordination skills, creative movement, and a variety of tumbling, balance beam and rhythmic gymnastics skills (ball, ribbon, and hoop manipulation).
 

Activities in French

 
ALUMNI CLUB
This class reunites former students of AIS who desire to practice their conversational skills in French. The club members debate international news and philosophical subjects by reading French newspapers, watching French documentaries, and debating in French. ART EXPLORATION
Students will have an exciting time learning in French about art from different time periods, cultures, and artists. Creativity will be the guide to create hands-on projects from all kind of materials. We will paint, cut, glue and draw, exploring our curiosity and imaginations. Each age group will have a unique approach to the subject matter. Art I will explore the Italian Renaissance, Art II will explore women artists. Both classes are open to students 6 years and older. Taught in French by art instructor Valérie Horne.
 
BASKETBALL
During this class, we will focus on the game fundamentals, teach concepts to increase their understanding of basketball, and do it all in a fun environment.  We will improve confidence on the court by developing individual skills including ball handling, shooting, defensive techniques, conditioning, and overall concept of the game at all levels. We will also play games 2-on-2 or 3-on-3. 

BEGINNERS FLÛTE CLASS
In this class taught in French, students from CE2, CM1, CM2, 6th, and 7th grade will learn the basics of music theory, and fundamentals of  flute playing. They will develop their imagination and express their emotions by connecting with the sound of the flute and learn how to interpret a score. The first year consists of: learning how to read music from a score; establishing proper flute embouchure technique, breathing technique, and tone production; developing rhythmic precision; and educating the ear with musical genres and periods from the classical repertoire. Students will practice for a mini public performance and live recording to be held during the last class. Flute rental and material cost is included in the class fee. Flute rental is optional and can be deducted from the class fee. Ask for details. Learning to play an instrument requires daily practicing and is reserved for highly motivated students.

CHESS
Geared towards two different age groups, both courses are taught by a native speaker of French who is certified by the French Chess Association. The Chess Class I is designed for students with little to no experience with chess. The course begins with a brief history of the game of chess. It then introduces the student to the board and pieces, explaining through role plays, exercices and games how each piece moves. Students in the Chess Class II will learn advanced strategy, tactics, and theory. The course culminates with a tournament at the end of the semester. Not only will you learn how to play chess but you will also learn a bit about the history of a game that has existed for more than 1500 years.

FRENCH THEATRE
Did you know that learning through theater improves proficiency in speaking and reading and increases level of comfort using a foreign language? The process of creating performance-based identity texts, cognitively engages students, providing room for identity developmen, ultimately helping many students with their linguistic and social performances.

SOCCER
We aim to develop necessary motor and interpersonal skills used in everyday life through a sport that kids enjoy. The students learn that soccer can be both an individual and team sport as they develop their own soccer and communication skills. They acquire knowledge regarding the rules of the game and we progress as a group beginning with the basic aerobic stretches and exercises. Then we advance to dribbling, passing, and shooting. We encourage the children to have fun while learning and cooperating as a team.
 
YOGA
These afterschool yoga classes integrate playful yoga postures, breathing exercises and guided relaxation along to music for an exhilarating experience for your child. Yoga is a self-expressive and non-competitive way for children to build self-esteem and instill confidence, improve concentration and focus, develop a healthy intellect, build balance, coordination and flexibility, develop calmness and learn tools for coping with stress in difficult situations. We help each student practice healthy habits and reach his or her highest potential. Taught in French by instructor Amy Pancake.

AROUND THE WORLD
In this 11-week class, students will experience the world through art, music, food, dance, and literature of 12 countries around the globe.
 
LEGO STORYTELLING
Write and illustrate stories featuring Legos characters that you design. Will you create a tale about ninjas, queens, wizards, or superheroes? Let your imagination go wild!
 
ORIGAMI CLUB
Discover the Japanese art form of paper folding.  In addition to creating paper creatures, toys, and more, participants
 will also explore the history and cultural meanings of origami. “Origami requires no cutting or messy pasting. However, it challenges you to have a steady mind and focus“ (Taro Yaguchi).
