Volunteer at AIS

Volunteers at Austin International School are worth their weight in gold! By lending time, talent, and tenacity, volunteers support the strategic initiatives of the school as well as our daily school operations. Without this support, AIS would need to hire additional staff.  Your time helps to defray additional costs so more resources can be spent towards our educational programs.

There are numerous opportunities to support the school through PTO initiatives like Pizza Friday, Bake Sales, and the uniform closet exchange, or by volunteering to support the school at our school events and fundraisers. For PTO opportunities, please reach out to the PTO President.

Additionally, Austin International School is always on the lookout for parents, students, and alumni to help share their stories at our outreach events, Open Houses, or serve as AIS Ambassadors.

School Event Volunteer Opportunities

Our school events represent wonderful celebrations with our community and embody the spirit and core values of AIS.  Various volunteer opportunities support our International Week, Service Learning Week, Book Fair and Literacy Week, STEAM Week, ongoing classroom assistance, and holiday class celebrations.  Volunteer sign-ups and information is shared throughout the year.  Time commitments vary from 4 to 8 hours depending upon the event.  If you are interested in supporting a school event, please contact us.

Fundraising Event Volunteer Opportunities

The school hosts several event fundraisers throughout the year including our Annual Spring Gala, FUNd Run, and Family Day. We are always in needs of folks to serve on a planning committee, help prep before the events, and lend a hand during the festivities. Time commitments vary from 4 to 8 hours depending upon the event. Volunteer sign-ups are shared throughout the year. If you are interested in supporting a fundraising cause, please Nikl Burke.

AIS Ambassador Program

Who better to extol the virtues of an international, seamless education at AIS than our parents, students, and alumni?  We are always looking for ambassadors to share their experiences with prospective families at school events, our hosted open houses, or at fairs and other outreach events.  This commitment is typically from 2- 4 hours and we are happy to have help at just one event or multiple. Volunteer sign-ups are shared throughout the year.  If you are interested in serving as an AIS Ambassador, please contact Nikl Burke.

Board and Committee Opportunities

We currently have the following working committees to help support school initiatives: Development, Marketing, Risk & Audit, and Finance. If you are interested on our Board of Directors or other committee, please reach out to the governance committee.
