AIS Language Test Center

The DELF/DALF exams are official certifications awarded by the French Ministry of Education to certify the competency of candidates in the French language. These certifications consist of six independent certificates that correspond to the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

These certificates are valid for life.

DELF-DALF Adult Certification Testing

March 2026 Testing Session

Austin International School is pleased to offer DELF-DALF certification testing for adults during the week of March 2-5, 2026.

About the Certification
The DELF (Diplôme d'Études en Langue Française) and DALF (Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française) are official French language proficiency certifications awarded by the French Ministry of Education. These internationally recognized credentials correspond to the six levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and remain valid for life.

Important Details

  • Test Duration: Full day—please plan to be available for the entire day
  • Score Certificates: Delivered within 6–8 weeks of testing
  • Official Diplomas: Printed in France; delivery typically takes 8 months
  • Exam Schedule: Individual schedules will be sent the weekend prior to your test date

Registration Process

  1. Submit Payment: Pay the exam fee corresponding to your selected level [payment link]
  2. Complete Registration Form: Fill out the electronic registration form using your legal name exactly as it appears on your government-issued identification

French Language Testing

Austin International School is recognized as a test center for the DELF, and DALF, diplomas. All tests and exams adhere to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages' levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2. The DELF and DALF exams award a diploma certifying language proficiency, which remains valid for life. These assessments are administered at Austin International School. To enroll, please select your desired proficiency level from the options below and proceed with the registration process.

DELF (Diplôme d’Etudes en Langue Française) and DALF (Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française) are official qualifications awarded by the French Ministry of Education to certify the competency of candidates from outside France in the French language.

These certificates are valid for life. DELF and DALF consist of six independent certificates that correspond to the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Depending on the achieved level, the DELF can significantly enhance one's curriculum vitae (CV) and facilitate employment opportunities in French-speaking companies.

Specifically, passing the DELF B2 enables eligibility for French nationality, and opens doors to admission into French, European, or Francophone universities, as well as certain grandes écoles.

DELF Prim – levels A1.1-A1-A2 (ages 8-12)
DELF Junior – levels A1-A2-B1-B2 (ages 13-17)
DELF TP – levels A1-A2-B1-B2 (18 and over)
DALF – levels C1-C2 (18 and over)
TCF – this is a scale type test that can give results between A1 and C2

French Test Options

A diploma of French Language Studies issued by the French Ministry of Education, managed by the France Éducation Internationale (FEI). It includes three levels: A1.1, A1, and A2, aligning with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

This diploma provides an opportunity for children to demonstrate their French language proficiency, receive recognition for their efforts in school, and familiarize themselves with exam settings from the onset of their French learning journey. Parents play a crucial role in supporting their child's progress and preparing them for success at each level of the DELF throughout their academic career.

France Education International - DELF Prim

An official diploma in French language studies is issued by the Ministry of National Education. It consists of four diplomas aligned with the first four levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: DELF A1, DELF A2, DELF B1, and DELF B2.

Recognized worldwide, the DELF is a prestigious and standardized diploma, reflecting the levels of proficiency outlined in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. It holds lifelong validity.

Achieving various levels of the DELF can enhance opportunities for admission to universities in France, Europe, French-speaking countries, as well as some grandes écoles universities.

France Education International - DELF Junior/Scolaire

The "tout public" version of the DELF, designed for adults, is an official diploma issued by the Ministry of National Education. It encompasses four diplomas aligning with the initial four levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: DELF A1, DELF A2, DELF B1, and DELF B2.

France Education International - DELF Tout Public

An official diploma issued by the French Ministry of Education is aligned with the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, certifying proficiency in French as a foreign language.

The diploma holds global recognition and remains valid indefinitely.

The DALF can significantly enhance one's curriculum vitae (CV) and facilitate employment opportunities in French-speaking environments. Additionally, it serves as a gateway to admission into French, European, or Francophone universities, as well as certain prestigious grandes coles universities.

France Education International - DALF

The TCF is the language level test set by the French Ministry for National Education. It assesses general French language skills for those whose first language is not French. It is a scale that will place you in one of the six levels of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) for languages.

Therefore, it is recognized by the following for this purpose:

  • Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation
  • Department for Integration and Nationality Acquisition (part of the Ministry of the Interior)
  • Ministry of Culture
  • Québec Ministry for Immigration, Francisation and Integration (MIFI)
