Course Criteria per Grade
Subject Overview
In IB MYP Arts, students explore a wide range of artistic forms such as music, dance, theater, and visual arts. The aim is not only to develop technical skills, but also to foster creativity, self-expression, and cultural awareness.
Through activities like choreography, painting, mime, musical storytelling, ceramics, and performance projects, students learn to investigate, create, and reflect. They also gain confidence by presenting their work in school events such as the shows, the AIS Dance, and the end-of-year performance.
Overall, IB MYP Arts encourages students to express themselves, think creatively, and engage with others through the universal language of the arts.

Content
Visual Arts:
- White Clay: creation of Christmas ornaments for the AIS tree and decorative magnets (developing manual skills, exploring materials, reflecting on design)
- Painting: exploration of styles and painting techniques, creation of original artworks to express ideas and emotions
Performing Arts:
- Shadow Theater: performance of classic tales for Maternelle (teamwork, exploration of narratives and cultural traditions, creativity in staging)
- Dance Styles and Choreography: learning different dance styles and creating group choreographies (understanding cultural codes, body experimentation, collective expression)
- Spring Show and Halloween Show: artistic productions combining dance, music, and theater (applying learned skills, teamwork, performing for a real audience)
Music:
- Body percussion exercises and rhythm games to develop internal pulse and rhythmic precision
- Designing short choreographies that integrate rhythmic patterns and simple variations
- Working in small groups to create and rehearse choreographic pieces
Collaborative Design and Creation:
- T-shirts for Camp Champions: design and printing of team T-shirts (creative thinking applied to design, building group identity, linking to school experiences)
