Curriculum

Welcome to our Middle School Curriculum Guide for the 2025-2026 academic year. This guide offers a comprehensive view of the academic journey your student will experience in 6e/6th Grade, 5e/7th Grade, and 4e/8th Grade.

At AIS, our middle school program reflects our commitment to preparing globally-minded students through a rigorous, multilingual education. Our curriculum meets the standards of three distinguished frameworks: the French Ministry of Education requirements, the International Baccalaureate® (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP), and the Common Core State Standards. This alignment ensures that our students receive an education recognized across multiple educational systems while developing the critical thinking and intercultural skills essential for success in our interconnected world.

Our language program is designed to meet each student where they are. English instruction follows a single level for all middle school students, while French and Spanish are offered as optional tracks that vary based on individual skill level. This approach allows students to develop language proficiency at their own pace while maintaining academic rigor across all disciplines.

Inside this guide, you'll find detailed course descriptions, learning objectives, assessment approaches, and the unique ways our teachers bring learning to life across languages and cultures. Whether your student is beginning their middle school journey or preparing for high school, this curriculum is designed to challenge, inspire, and support their growth.
