Course Criteria per Grade
Subject Overview
The Middle School Service Learning course helps students connect with their community through meaningful projects that build empathy, civic responsibility, and social action. Students will identify community needs, design projects to address them, and reflect on their experiences to understand the impact of their work.
Skills
- Understand what service learning is and why it matters
- Work together to plan and carry out projects
- Practice skills in teamwork, communication, and problem-solving
- Take part in real service activities that help the community
- Reflect on their experiences and share what they learned with others
Content
- Yearbook design and production
- Offering design services to the AIS community
- Designing solutions for classrooms
- AIS Garden upkeep
- Reading and supporting Maternelle students
- 3D modeling and printing objects (keys, badges, etc.)

This course is Pass/Fail.
