Subject Overview
IB MYP Physical and Health Education (PHE) Year 1 empowers students to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to lead active, healthy, and balanced lives. Grounded in the IB MYP framework, this course encourages students to explore movement, understand personal well-being, and build the foundations for lifelong physical literacy.
Throughout the year, students engage in a broad range of physical activities that promote motor skill development, teamwork, and strategic thinking. They learn to set personal goals, reflect on performance, and apply feedback to improve their skills. Health education units guide students in understanding physical, emotional, and social well-being, empowering them to make informed choices about lifestyle, nutrition, relationships, and stress management.

Subject Overview
MYP Physical and Health Education (PHE) Year 2 builds upon the foundational skills of Year 1, guiding students toward deeper understanding, improved performance, and greater independence in managing their health and physical development. Through a balanced combination of movement, fitness, skill acquisition, and health education, students continue to grow as active, reflective, and health-conscious learners.
In Year 2, students engage in a wider range of physical activities—including team games, individual sports, fitness training, and movement composition—to refine their coordination, strategy, and technical skills. Emphasis is placed on analyzing performance, applying tactical decisions, and collaborating effectively with peers. Students are encouraged to set personalized goals, track their progress, and use feedback to enhance their performance.

Subject Overview
Students continue to refine their physical performance, deepen health-related knowledge, and take greater ownership of their personal well-being and growth as collaborators, leaders, and reflective learners.
Throughout Year 3, students participate in a varied program of physical activities that may include invasion games, net and wall sports, striking and fielding games, athletics, fitness training, outdoor pursuits, and movement composition. Students apply technical skills with increasing precision and adapt strategies in real-time game situations. They take on more leadership roles—such as officiating, coaching peers, and designing warm-ups—to foster communication, responsibility, and sportsmanship.
