Emeric Famechon
Graduated in 2018
Emeric joined AIS in PS (Pre-K 3) and left after he graduated from CM2 (5th grade), carrying with him fond memories of the Fort Davis trip, as well as two extra languages. After graduating from Cedar Park High School in 2025, he's now studying aerospace engineering at UT Austin with his sights set on aircraft design. He credits AIS with sparking his love for French and Spanish, both of which he continued throughout high school.
Xavier Haberman
Graduated in 2021
Xavier began his journey at AIS all the way back in PS (Pre-K 3) and stayed through CM2 (5th grade), building the kind of multilingual foundation that still sets him apart today. Now a high school student at Austin High, he's channeling that early independence and leadership into meaningful roles — he sits on the Student Council and serves on the Model UN board, honing the critical thinking and global awareness that AIS clearly helped spark. He credits the school with teaching him how to work independently and how to speak French well, two skills that continue to serve him in high school and beyond.
Alexandra Jiampietro
Graduated in 2020
Alexandra (Alex) graduated from AIS in 2020 and went on to attend St. Michael's Catholic Preparatory School, graduating in 2025. During her time at AIS, Alex developed a passion for learning languages and built lasting friendships within the school's tight-knit community. She is an accomplished diver and is now attending Harvard University, where she is majoring in Neuroscience/Neurobiology with aspirations of becoming a surgeon or anesthesiologist. Alex credits AIS for providing her with a strong foundation in languages and fostering the curiosity and relationships that continue to shape her academic and personal journey. She encourages current AIS students to build strong relationships, stay curious and open-minded, and take a moment to appreciate their time at the school.
Ian Redmond
Graduated in 2019
Since leaving AIS, Ian has spent four years at St. Stephens in Austin, then graduated with a mention très bien from Lycée International de Saint-Germain-en-Laye in France. Now he's headed to Brown University. Here's what stands out: Ian's parents don't speak French, yet he not only mastered the language at AIS but went on to thrive in a French lycée and now speaks four to five languages fluently. This is what a strong trilingual foundation can do.
Isabella Rincon
Graduated in 2012
Isabella started at AIS in PS (Pre-K 3) and still remembers the moment she tried escargot for the first time on her graduation trip, a fitting first adventure for someone who would go on to study at Montpellier Business School in France. After graduating high school in 2020, she built a career in Sales and Marketing at Hotel Viata in Austin. She reflects that AIS gave her the ability to adapt and engage the world with an open mind, something she's drawn on through her studies, her time abroad, and her professional life.
Samrawit Waelbroeck
Graduated in 2020
Samrawit attended AIS from Pre-K 3 through 5th grade, and the foundation she built there has shaped everything that followed (in language, critical thinking, and global perspective). Now a sophomore at LASA (Liberal Arts and Science Academy) in Austin, she is a dedicated ballet dancer with twelve years of training, spending six days a week at Ballet Austin and performing in their Nutcracker production for the past five years. Her commitment has taken her far beyond Austin: she has trained at Dance Theater of Harlem's Summer Program and attended Pacific Northwest Ballet's prestigious summer intensive for two consecutive years (with a third on the horizon), and has been accepted into the year-round programs at both Boston Ballet and Chicago Ballet. Equally driven in the classroom, Samrawit earned a 5 on her Spanish AP exam in 8th grade, completed her French AP in 10th grade, and received her Global Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish, a natural extension of the trilingual education she began at AIS. She has also given back to the next generation, volunteering as an assistant teacher for pre-ballet students (5-year-olds) at Ballet Austin.
